Cacao has profoundly impacted my life and countless others in ways that transcend words, touching us deeply through experience. When I introduced cacao into my life, it felt like my heart cracked open with love. I began to truly see myself, aligning my purpose with service to my higher self, humanity, and Mother Earth.

When I introduced cacao into my life, it felt like my heart cracked open with love. I began to truly see myself, aligning my purpose with service to my higher self, humanity, and Mother Earth.

For the first time, I no longer felt like a stranger in the universe but an embodied woman capable of transforming pain and suffering into love and peace, much like cacao transforms into the “Food of the Gods.”

I first encountered cacao during women’s circles I was co-facilitating with a dear sister who lived and learned from Mayan people to hold cacao ceremonies. Though I didn’t yet grasp where this journey would lead, I soon found myself also going in Guatemala after a painful heartbreak with my partner in Mexico. For weeks, I couldn’t spend a night without crying the grieve of this lost.

It is then in Guatemala where I have deepened my connection to Mama Cacao and saw myself completely transforming. A new me was born, more aligned with my deepest heart desires and soul essence.

I was in San Marcos La Laguna when I met Tata Izaias and Nana Izabel, Mayan Tzutujil leaders who share their Mayan Cosmovision and love for cacao with the world to awaken a higher consciousness, rooted in deep unconditional love. When I first met them during a ceremony they were facilitating, I’ve experienced an overwhelming sense of unconditional love only from their presence. I have never felt that before. They were radiating love consciousness itself. During this ceremony, I have seen my heart cracked open like a flower blossoming. My heart, instead of bleeding with pain, was overflowing with a loving feeling  I had never known before.

This profound experience ignited my desire to delve deeper into the roots of cacao. Through my journey with Lava Love Cacao, Tata Izaias and Nana Isabel generously shared their wisdom and Mayan Cosmovision, enriching my understanding of cacao and its sacred essence. They emphasized honouring the sacredness of life in all its aspects, a principal deeply embedded in Mayan culture. Cacao, revered as a divine gift in the Mayan cosmovision, embodies the wisdom of love and harmony with nature.

As I delved further, I discovered a troubling reality: this sacred plant, cherished for millennia, is now exploited for profit, leading to deforestation in West Africa. This stark contrast deepened my appreciation for indigenous knowledge and the sacredness it holds. How could a plant intended to reconnect people and restore harmony with the Earth be used to exploit the land and its people?

This realization clarified my mission: to honor indigenous wisdom and restore the sacredness of life. By bridging cultures and recollecting the roots of our humanity, we can thrive as individuals, as a collective, and as a conscious, living constellation.

To support this mission and experience the transformative power of cacao for yourself, visit my cacao shop. Each purchase helps sustain the sacred traditions of indigenous communities and promotes environmental regeneration. Let’s reconnect with nature and honor the sacredness of life, one cup of cacao at a time.

If you would like to dive deeper into the teachings of cacao and go into a transformative journey supported by cacao and mayan leaders, I invite you to my sustainable retreat in collaboration with the Mayan community in Lanquin, Semuc Champey, where we will dive into cacao wisdom, plant medicines, mayan culture, and permaculture to root ourselves down into the earth and embrace its gifts of abundance and beauty.
